Loraix

Leave the network. Keep the journey.

Vehicles and heavy equipment do not always stay within LoRaWAN coverage. LR-GPS stores acquired GPS positions in internal memory outside coverage, then uploads them when the network returns to build a report of the past journey.

LR-GPS highlights

Battery-powered operation

Battery power supports field operation. Plan the power arrangement around the vehicles and moving assets you need to track.

Record outside coverage

Acquired positions stay in device memory when LoRaWAN is unavailable. Stored records are sent to the platform when coverage returns.

Local access over Bluetooth

Connect nearby with Loraix Tracker over Bluetooth Low Energy to check positioning, network connectivity and memory status in the field.

Coverage changes. The journey stays on record.

LR-GPS stores positions locally so the part of a journey outside LoRaWAN coverage can be reviewed later.

  1. Outside coverage

    Record the position

GPS/GNSS positions acquired outside LoRaWAN coverage are stored in the device’s internal memory.

  2. Coverage restored

    Upload on return

When the device returns to LoRaWAN coverage, it sends the queued position records to the platform.

  3. Historical journey report

    Review the journey

Uploaded historical positions become route history and journey reports in Loraix Console.

Positions stored outside coverage become visible after reconnection and upload. Recording a position requires GPS/GNSS reception; satellite reception and LoRaWAN coverage are separate conditions.

Where did the vehicle go? Review the records.

Construction and heavy equipment

Store positions when equipment leaves a LoRaWAN-covered site. Review its recorded movements outside the site when it returns.

Mining and wide-area operations

Bring together recorded positions from vehicles moving between different coverage areas in open-site operations.

Logistics and mobile assets

Review past journeys when vehicles and assets return to the depot or facility network. Plan battery use and recording intervals for your operation.

Start with the route. Then plan the connection.

We assess the vehicles, time spent outside coverage, position recording intervals and reports together. Battery runtime, required memory and upload time depend on this operating plan.

Frequently asked questions about LR-GPS

How does LR-GPS work outside LoRaWAN coverage?

It stores acquired GPS/GNSS positions in internal memory. On returning to LoRaWAN coverage, it uploads those records so the recorded journey outside coverage can be reported later.

When is the journey report available?

Stored positions join the location history in Loraix Console after the device reconnects and uploads its records. These historical records support the journey report.

Is LR-GPS battery-powered?

Yes. LR-GPS supports battery-powered operation. Runtime is assessed against the position recording interval, radio behaviour and field conditions.

What is Bluetooth used for?

Bluetooth Low Energy provides nearby access through Loraix Tracker to check positioning, LoRaWAN connectivity and memory status. LoRaWAN carries remote data.

Can it record positions without satellite reception?

Acquiring a new GPS/GNSS position requires suitable satellite reception. Local memory handles loss of LoRaWAN connectivity; it does not create a new position where satellite reception is unavailable.
